This prairie falcon was sitting on a power pole just outside Carrizo Plain National Monument when a couple of humans drove up and began photographing him.

- Santa Barbara Channelkeeper replants eelgrass beds at the Channel Islands. These beds provide nurseries for young marine creatures.
This is a Red-tailed Hawk, not a Prairie Falcon. Note the dark patagial (didn't spell correctly) and the comma on the wing. Note the absense of dark axillars. Note the belly band and the dark chin.
